I'm an amatuer gardener from Eastern Newfoundland in Canada. I have been interested in the Japanese style of gardening for 10 years. Suiseki and bonsai held my interest for a few years and I still collect stones, but now for use in gardens. I am experimenting with pruning local shrubs for use in Japanese gardens.

I design, build and maintain small Japanese features such as dry gravel gardens, rock paths and small waterways. I am very interested in stone lanterns.

I am a member of the Parks and Recreation committee for the town of Conception Bay South [CBS]. I designed a stroll garden as part of a municipal park. If this goes ahead it will be the only Japanese garden east of Montreal. I would like to share my design with any member of this forum who would like to help improve it.

I am looking for an opportunity to "talk" to other gardeners interested in Japanese gardens. I also hope to find Canadian sources for stone lanterns, water basins and so on.
