My husband and I love our perennial garden, container gardening and houseplants and try to attract hummingbirds with our plantings. I've got two and a half gardens, one in a suburb north of Boston and the other on a pond in Plymouth, MA. The "half" is the help I give my 90-year-old mother who still plants perennials and who gave me a love of gardening over half a century ago. And I pass houseplants (which I call my "grandplants") along to my two adult kids, both professional musicians.

A professional technical writer and technical trainer who's close to burnout, I'm considering options for a new career and hope it involves plants and simplicity.
