I have a small size plot that I am slowly turning into a cottage garden, even though I live in an urban setting. My house was built in 1932 and I dont think any of the previous owners ever planted anything. I keep finding construction debris when I dig new holes. I love roses, lilacs, and perrenials and I HATE dandelions, they are the bane of my existence. The English say that it takes 10 years to make a garden. Well...... Im impatient and Ive been working on mine for 3 years and I keep putting in more plants to fill in the spaces that I know Ill just have to move when everything matures. **Jan. 2006** With the help and inspiration of the kind folks on the Seed Trading and Winter Sowing forums, I am trying winter sowing for the first time. I have about 90 different types of seeds to try. Unfortunately, I dont think I have enough flats... Ill be getting them all out soon. I hope I have a lot of plants come Springtime, because I plan to eradicate all of the grass, and therefore dandelions (grrrr!)from my garden.
