Everett WA is where I call home. I don't have a large area to garden in, but each year it seems I learn something new and interesting about gardening that makes me want to try more with what I have. Not that I want more work, though! Raising four small children means that I don't have time to do unnecessary garden chores, so if I'm going to do something on my spare time I'm going to like it or it won't get done.
My favorite garden author is definitely Ruth Stout. I'm on my second year of mulch gardening and it's going great. This year I'm focusing on raising plants from seed. Since I haven't had much success or patience with starting seeds indoors I am now trying winter sowing. The thing I like best is that I don't have to water those little seedlings in our rainy weather! I have also put up a bat house and am vermicomposting (my children love to see all those worms!).
