Started gardening around 1994. Have back yard filled with purple & pink flowers, one side yard is black & white, other is red & yellow, front yard is mixture of colors. I have to buy anything new I see and spend way too much money on gardening! LOL I've carted over 7 tons of fieldstone home from a quarry about 5 miles away in my tiny little mazda hatchback (the quarry guys think I'm nuts!) and made raised beds, a beautiful sidewalk and a rock garden. My dad helped me make a gazebo from a base we used in our last house for the washer & dryer and later I added an arbor to it. My latest project which I've been working on this summer & last is an Octopus Garden. It's next to the garage, which I plan to paint blue and paint fish, seahorses, etc on. I have already laid out a brick path of 8 "arms" radiating from the central point which will be the body of the octopus which will be a topiary. This year I planted roses in the whole area, and surrounding it are sedums, phlox and things that look oceany. Hope I get it done next year!
