I stay in a small coastal town called Port Alfred on the south eastern tip of South Africa about 8hrs drive from Cape town.
I love trees and orchids and wildlife Iam middle aged and garden on a sand dune Yes I DIG ONE FOOT AND ITS PURE SEA SAND GOLDEN YELLOW I stay about 100 yards from the sea and a tidal river it is beautiful and quiet thousands of birds and small animals abound woodpeckers have nests all over.porcupines eat everything new I plant so it has to be covered or painted with a pepper chilli paste on the stems .
OUR THREE DOGS Spats Beth and Jordan have their time cut out protecting their territory against these little rascals.
last week JORDAN (a Jack Russel ) chased a chipmunk type rat into its hole tried to dig it out but the tree roots gave off a very sticky milk. well he arrived in the lounge looking like he had just changed the oil on the car and very pleased with himself ,all for now My wife is Sally.
