I'm a 35 year old single male garden designer in the Los Angeles area (West Hollywood technically) and I import bulbs from Brazil and other exotic destinations such as South Africa, Argentina, and Malaysia. Most important bulbs are Worsleya raynerii and Hippeastrum species but also Strelitzia juncea, Sinningia, Cyrtanthus and more.
I also do the landscape designing for my uncle in the North Canton area (Canal Fulton) of Ohio. Here I have almost 2 acres to plant with all the wonderful things that do not grow well for me in L.A. such as tons and tons of lilies, peonies, iris, lilac, tulips, daffodils, delphiniums, native perennials such as goldenrod, asters, etc.
Some of the things I wish to try in the future include Sinnigias as well as Cypripediums, Trilliums, and other woodland perennials.
Please feel free to email me about any questions or interests, I can yap on about plants 24/7. I'd see a doctor about it but I'm afraid I would bore him to tears with all my plant talk and I am sure that there is no cure just yet (other than a huge yard and an even larger operating budget )
I love trading plants, especially old-fashioned/heirloom varieties for some of my extras. In Ohio I have a ton of things that are regularly divided and often tossed or given away. If you are in the Akron/Canton area, email me. I am there 2 weeks in the spring (usually April or May) and 2 weeks in the fall (September).
