I am a professional gardener/landscaper in Seattle who really appreaciates the bizarreness of plants. For most of my clients I stick to dependable, drought tolerant plants that have loads of color and texture. For my own garden, I love to load it with plants that look like they came from the moon or a vampire's garden (Monkey's Paw, Allium, Hebe, Cleome, Sea Holly, Black Mondo Grass). The other aspect of gardening that interests me is the wierd science of it...I mean, think about it...plants have sex parts that attract these flying insects who then carry their pollen to another plant. So plants don't actually have sex. Nothing is more bizarre than nature itself.
