Just mad about gardening! I live for it, it's the greatest therapy in the world - therapy for everything from clinical illnesses to a bad hair day.
I'm most interested in creating a tropical/subtropical looking garden, but the flora that interests me most is that of South Africa - not only Cape flora, but all of it. It's the richest flora in the world. Some South African plants are much hardier than you'd expect and can be grown easily in zones 6 and 7. We have a dozen or so South African genera in our garden, more in our greenhouse. Beyond that we grow winter hardy gingers and bananas outside, and are experimenting with Eucalypts and the odd palms. The eucalypts are surprisingly hardy.
