I live in southeastern Massachusetts and am relatively new to gardening. I started dabbling about 7 years ago and it is becoming an obsession. But its good to know that others SHARE my obsession!

I have 1/2 acre fenced in lot that Ive been trying to work. When I started we had oak trees and grass - okay PATCHES of grass. Ive created planting beds and slowly but surely Im actually putting plants in them!

Everything I now "know" about gardening I have learned from these forums and folks that I have met (virtually and in person) as a result of these forums.

Because of these forums I have:

Started composting, accumulated 3 rain barrels and collect my own water (town restrictions on watering be DARNED!), made too many lasagna beds to count(who needs grass??), started using the sheet mulching process, winter sowed a LOT (got more than a little but less than a lot) and learned how to collect seeds.

I love GARDEN JUNK and the creative process with no "rules". As such, I have started to accumulate and use power tools (much to my husbands horror and my daughters delight).
