I really love to garden, and every spring I can't wait for the snow and ice to melt so I can get back outside and play in the dirt. All of my garden's are in the shade with very little sunlight coming thru the trees, so that's one challenge I face. The other challenge are the deer! I have such mixed emotions regarading the deer. They are such beautiful animals, I love to watch them, just not in my garden! I'm always on the lookout for plants that do well in the shade, are deer resistant and can handle our Minnesota climate. I grow a lot of ferns, astilbe, primroses, caladium, and pachysandra. I also love to grown impatients and hosta, but am constantly battling the deer. If anyone has suggestions for me on plants they think might work for me, or their ideas on keeping the deer out of my gardens would certainly be welcomed.
