I am a grower of hardy exotics, mostly growing gingers and aroids, and some bananas and miscellenious plants. I own a small business. I grow the gingers in an unheated greenhouse and in my private garden. The Musa basjoo I grow outside in the vegetable garden, without any protection at all from wind or cold. Since there still is a lot to learn about gingers I hope I will expand my knowledge by using the ginger forum, alternatively I hope to help others with some good advice about gingers. I live in the east of the Netherlands, close to Germany, in a zone 7b or cold zone 8a, depending on the hardiness zone maps one like to use.
