Gardening is a fairly recent passion, growing out of the frustration trying to find plants to thrive in a freezing subtropical zone with 30 mph winds and daily summer fog. I keep two gardens, a small one in the city and a big one 70 miles north in the warm Russian River valley, where I experiment with as many xeric plants as possible, including every euphorbia species I can lay my hands on. I plan to rival Oxford's collection one day!
