I like to mostly collect plants from arid/desert and a few tropical regions. I especially like the following: astrophytum, dorstenia, adenia, gymnocalycium, lophophora, matucana, epithelantha, kalanchoe, euphorbia species, and many others.
Phoenix,Arizona is a great place for these, but a lot of folks might be surprised that we have to deal with frost, drought, etc. I have around 80+ potted specimens, and am still learning after less than a year and a half of growing. My next challenge? Growing many of these same items from seed...
