From the costal zone of Southern New Jersey, AKA The Pine Barrens (it just sounds bad) sandy loam soil can get z7b in a protected area. The sandy soil is awesome for So European herbs to go crazy, and for growing great turfgrass (turf science minor in college, like hort wasn't nerdy enough)
