I am an urban farmer. I have 3000 square feet of vegetables and herbs, a small orchard of 6 fruit trees and berries, 6 egg-laying hens, 2 miniature dairy goats, and a beehive.

I garden according to integrated pest management. Mostly, I just leave my garden alone. I focus on building up the soil with compost and chicken manure. I use some synthetic fertilizer because I happen to have it and use Roundup on the nastiest weeds when digging or boiling water has not gotten them all.
