My mom was an amazing gardener, but for most of my life I couldn't keep a cactus alive. Then I bought an aesthetically challenged cottage and realized that a garden could make it beautiful. Voila, my hard won green thumb. These days I'm focused on fixing up the house I grew up in, both inside and out.
