Newlywed, kindergarten teacher, likes to read, has Art degree.... helping my husband and father-in-law landscape property surrounding new house. New to gardening in the dark sandy soil of Zone 8, having grown up amidst red clay of Zone 7. This property used to be forested and is located on a coastal creek. I'm spending a lot of time digging up roots, and clearing smaller trees in order to develop yard and a vegetable garden. Have had success with indoor/ container gardening, and am now attempting my first outdoor herb garden.
