I have been a big fan of Garden Web Forums for a couple
of years. Until today, I was just lurking, but secretly
wanting to get involved in sharing ideas with the members.
I have gotten some wonderful ideas about making items for
my little garden areas: such as the adorable teacup bird
feeder stakes! I made several of those last year, and I have just finished some more this past week. My husband
sometimes helps me with my "junk projects", but he is not
so enthusiastic as I am about some of my creations! I think
this is so funny, and I have been delighted to read in the
forums that there are other husbands who are more than
baffled by some of their wives'ideas for recycling junk!!
It's so nice to know that I am not alone in my love of
making treasures out of trash! For so long, I thought that
I might be truly 'weird' because of my obsession with junk!
My hubby has become more cooperative about helping me, and
he actually brags about some of my creations; such as the
mosaic bowling bowls that I made last summer. He was
skeptical about those in the beginning, but when I finished
the first one and displayed it among my plants, he was
actually appreciative of it's beauty and charm. (He was also glad that he didn't have to mow around it, too!)
I gave one to a friend, and she was thrilled to get it and
put it right in with her flowers!
I am happy to join the Garden Web forums and I look
forward to posting some questions and also leaving some
of my own ideas and pictures soon.
