Hi All, My wife and I got out of the city years ago, largely so that I could have the gardens I want for my work and to provide some of our own produce for the table. We both grew up in the country and could no longer remember why we were in San Francisco at all. The move to Redwood Valley in Mendocino County California has been great for all of us, yes even the 14 year old daughter enjoys this rougher style of life.
And what gardens I now have! A few more years as the perenials start to mature and I shall have a true jungle to play in.
We have also started to raise and sell chickens and eggs for hatching localy. If you have never had the pleasure of living with farm animals then chickens are the place to start. They are friendly and comical. Egg-celent workers they provide food for the table, garden and soul.
