Been gardening a little for 50 yrs. Esp. interested in Japanese style gardens, and blending with the natural world in my design. Have a small perennial flower garden, a small vege garden, a small half wild meadow, about 1/2 acre of fir and big leaf maple woods, and about 80 roses, all on an iland in the sea, rimmed with mountains. Feel fully blessed.
Have two grown children, who headed for the big city as fast as possible, leaving me in the windy firs and the clean north air.
Work full time, so all this lovely garden is not kept the way one would dream, but I still love it. Daffodils thicken in the meadow, and the wild red current is in full glowing bloom at the edge of the trees.
Have a penchant for using proper plant names so there is no question what one is speaking of. Also, for living with the rest of the wild world. The deer keep my fruit trees in interesting shapes, the raccoons thin the goldfish, and the cat works on the moles. And the eagles have thinned my cats. Keep trying new stuff. It's fun, and love sharing with others about their gardens.
Look forward to sharing and learning from you all.
