I'm a master's student in Christchurch, NZ, and I got into gardening through not being able to find the vegetables and herbs I wanted to cook with. (I confess having a passion for strange ingredients still)
This quickly spilled over into ornamentals, and I spent several years landscaping gardens. My taste in gardens has always been fairly eclectic, and I grow natives alongside subtropical exotics, and have a collection of over 50 species of Aloe.
I've just bought a new house, and so am starting from scratch, (practically)landscaping a new garden. At this stage my first garden of yuccas, aloes, cordylines, and other lily relatives is complete, but needs some growth to start looking established. The rest is a shambles, but I live in hope.
