After 20 yrs we finally have made a "secret garden" - out of a bare section of sand and weeds. Now Nature has the upper hand we mainly enjoy our wonderful shade, esp loving the foliage colours and patterns etc. My 150 roses are getting a harder time of it but still flower generously. We live in a semiarid area the furtherest town in New Zeland away from the sea, right bang on the 45th Parallel.
