I am 55, female, married, no children. We got a really lucky break and were able to take an early retirement last year. We moved from Denver, CO. to our dream..a 60 acre "farm" in Mo. near the Ozarks. I collect antique dolls and we have German Shepherds, hence the moniker! I love to flower garden but this will be my first vegetable garden in 30 years! we have a big area plowed up! Wish me luck! I am quite nervous about it. Would like to grow enough veggies to can and freeze. Plus I hope to plant a lot of flowers around the edges of the garden. A real old fashioned sort of garden. The biggest challenge here is all the rocks!! They seem to grow. I am lucky that the garden plot is fairly rock free.
