I would rather weed than mow. I don't stake or prune unless necessary. As a transplanted northerner I am easily impressed by big-leafed tropicals that survive in my zone. My yard is not yet a garden, it is merely a yard with some interesting plants. Give me a little more time. My wife thinks that I am eccentric, but my toddler knows as many plant names as names of cartoon characters.
