In my 40s, married forever(I like it that way!), with 3 children, one of whom is special needs,a family physcian in central Iowa with NO TIME. Eventually I would like to become a Master Gardener but that's going to have to wait until the kids are older or I retire (in about 20 yrs then). My gardening style is sometimes "show me your will to live" when it comes to perennials. I try to Xeroscape as much as possible and I avoid chemicals when I can. I always have a few vegetables especially tomatoes. Hey, my heritage is Italian after all. What gives me the most enjoyment are my perennials and my flowers. My half-acre yard yard has 50+ trees so I am an avid fan of the Gardening in Shade Forum. I try to read as much as possible and I'm not afraid of trying new things. If I can get outside to scratch in the dirt I'm a happy gal. Maria
