It's grey here in winter, so I'll try any plant that promises flowers in winter - helleborus, hamamelis, jasminium nudiflorum, heath, Dawn viburnum.

Then again I like any plant with immense leaves - ligularia dentata, rogersia aesculifolia, darmera peltata, crambe cordifolia, or the annual castor bean plant, ricinus communis. I also like to push the envelope with hardiness - crape myrtle, jasminium nudiflorum, willow oak; and I love old-fashioned perennials.

Guess you could say I�m a plant collector, and my interest in garden design grew out of my love of plants.
