I live in Portland Maine and have a garden plot in a community garden. Ahh... I love putting my hands in the dirt. 2005 is the first year that I will put the garden in by myself--in the past I just helped with maintenance and eating-- and I am a bit daunted by planning how to organize the plot. However, I know that I will enjoy the work even if my plants run out into the shared walking space. My garden spot is amazing; it has a view of Mt Washington behind the changing tides of the back bay, and a constant scent of the ocean blowing across the eastern prom. Most days I go to the garden with my coffee and my journal and sit in my garden and write, never touching a plant. I am thrilled to find this website because though gardening is something that I do to find inner silence, I value the community that emerges through the sharing of gardening tips and stories. I look forward to participating in the community of this group:)
