a wide-eyed boy from the tag-end of the great depression.

raised primarily on my grandpa's farm, while dad was off trying to earn enough money to keep us together.

educated by the world i watched and looked at, and a rural university at kalamazoo.

found an affinity for plants and plant propogation which allowed me to make my way, until galloping arthritis in knees and spine shut me down.

lived many years in a little brown house on the n/e cornor of a small town, in s/w michigan [name of eau claire]. industrial pollution forced a move from there in december of 2001, and we're now living in a dark-green house on a woody bluff, back along the saint joseph river, near berrien springs, mi.

me & barbara {that's the wife, barbara} have us a daughter kate [the pride of my life], a little black dog with a tan rump [named jolly] and a stupid siamese cat [whose name i forget, right now --stupid will do].

[forget the cat- it hated the idea of moving, and refused to stay here... i wish it well.]
