Have been family genealogist for 25 years. Like to putter in outside garden, but also enjoy house plants, especi~~~y cacti and succulants. Have one Christmas cactus which is 30 years old and several others which grew from cuttings of the mother plant. I cross pollenate my Christmas cactus so they form a seed pod which is bright pink and stays on the cactus ~~~ year round. Makes for an attractive plant and invites many questions from visitors. I'm now developing interest in epiphyllums and cryptocereus plants. My epiphyllum (don't know the variety) is 4 years old, has become large and flowers for weeks in the spring.
