My wife and I garden in Brookings, on the very southern coast of Oregon where it is frost-free 6 years out of 10. I tend toward the tropical look, characterized by cool-tolerant palms, tree ferns, bamboo, species rhododendrons and the like. Himalayan, Andean and Chilean flora figure prominently as well as plants from New Zealand. I also have a small greenhouse for growing orchids.
