I have been "flower" gardening for most of my adult life. Most of my gardening experience consists of light research combined with trial and error. I reside in rural Illinois on 19 acres (mostly woodland) since 2003. During that time I've been developing 3 full-sun and 2 shade gardens that are constantly changing and fine tuned as the plants and trees dictate. Hosta, fern, sedums, echinacea, grasses, heuchera, fern, hydrangea and crape myrtle interest me most. In my growing zone, Boston fern, certain caladium and impatiens do well as annuals near my house under the trees.
