I am an amateur bryologist, particularly interested in mosses, moss identification, down to genus and species, as well as moss gardening. Mosses were the earths first ground cover. As vascular plants have dominated mosses have retreated to the areas vascular plants find difficult to grow: mountains, tundra , desert, shady areas and deep woods. Many of our common mosses make great groundcovers and the mosses of the deep woods are especially breathtaking in their delicacy and intricacy.

I am also fascinated by the unlimited creativity of hypertufa.
