I have several different gardens. My favorite garden is my perennial garden which faces the street on which we live. I began with nothing, fifteen years ago, and now have a 30 x 6 foot perennial border. In that border are: iris, sweet autumn clematis, peonies, tulips, lupins, potentilla, lillies, heliopsis, jacob s ladder, marsh mallow, solomon s seal, tansy, chives, alium, nasturtiums, shasta daisy, datura, lilacs, roses, monarda, liatris, yarrow, achilea,
echinacea, tall phlox, hardy geranium, evening primrose and coreopsis and probably a couple I missed. The hard part is also the best part--trying to have something in bloom from as early as possible to as late as possible. April to Nov.
I will add to this as time allows.
I ve been using the Gardenweb Forums now for 3 years and everyone here is wonderful! I feel so much warmth and support and sense that other s feel a real responsibility not only to the earth but bringing along the next generation of gardeners. I am 51, married with no children, but one kitty and work full time as a designer/space planner. This is a high-tech job with CAD work predominant. Being in nature and watching seeds and plants grow is almost the opposite of my \"Dilbert\" life! So I really enjoy getting my hands dirty, planting, watching things progress and going to plant swaps to get more! Happy growing.
