My husband and I and his family run a country pub in the middle of the Bass Strait. I love my garden but it is difficult with the wind down here. I'm originally from Queensland and the gardening on the Island is very different. We spend our time outdoors as much as the weather allows. The Island is pretty self sufficient with and abundance of seafood (abalone, crayfish, prawns, flounder, flathead, and a whole lot more I cannot think of at the moment.) The beaches are very scenic and clean. Our way of life is very laid back and we still can leave our doors unlocked and leave the keys in the car. The kids can run around the streets with out the worry of too many strangers, and every body knows every body and whose kids are whos. It is a great place to be except the shopping is a bit limited, but we can go to Launceston by plane in 35 minutes. The boat comes weekly with supplies except in the roughest weather and public holidays.
Well that is a little bit of me except I like to party at the pub and boy do we know how to party at the pub
