Until my husband & I bought a new (to us) house with a little over an acre, I knew NOTHING about gardening. Reading books was helpful as a start, and my reading led me in the direction of using native plants. I joined the Wild Ones (a GREAT organization). Discovering these forums really contributed to my learning, and theyre great fun as well! Besides the Native Plants & Woodlands sites, I also find Organic Gardening, Lawn Care, & Landscape Design sites very useful (hopefully someday Ponds, too).
