It is hard for me to describe my gardening style.

Tropical Shade Gardening sounds nice. But I'm also an Organic Gardener. Then I read the book, 'The New Exotic Garden' and found out that I could also fit readily into that category. I also enjoy 'wildlife' gardening. And, since part of my garden is a Japanese garden, and some is traditional, but includes mostly native species, I found the term 'Fusion' gardening to fit what I do. Maybe with all this going on, 'Con-fusion' gardening would be a better term. My wife says all I do is move plants around from one spot to another. And, since I have around 480 species and cultivars.....she's probably right! Hmmmmmmmmm.......I guess it's time to go mow the grass. Oh, I forgot.....I don't have anymore grass. It's all taken up by flower beds! ha :-) David

My favorite plant groups are gingers and cannas.
I have probably the largest private collection of gingers west of the Mississippi. I hybridize cannas and the small group of gingers known as Kaempferias aka the Peacock Gingers.

I live in: United States

My zone is: z9 TX

My favorite forum 1 is Tropicals.

My favorite forum 2 is Foliage Plants.
