I'm a 'middle-aged' (51, actually) Maintenance Technician, re: grease monkey, for a publishing company's distribution center. What does a Maint. Tech do? Not much, according to the other departments ;') We're called on to do a variety of tasks. We can be welders, electricians, pipefitters, carpenters, mechanics, etc. Not masters by any means, but good enough for most cases. We also do a lot of repair and maintaining of wire-guided order pickers and turret trucks. In addition to being primarilly a vegetable gardener I like to flyfish and practice a Korean martial art called Kuk Sool Won. I'm a compulsive reader. Mostly historical stuff, but I also enjoy other subjects as well. It looks as if there's a wealth of information on the various Garden Web forums, so I look forward to a good learning experience here.
