My back garden is under major overhaul from eyesore to a fragrant place of private meditation. I've put in a couple of trees recently and am now putting in perenials. Roses are a mystery to me, what with mold and pests, and uncertain watering & fertilizing needs. My favorite flowers are Fresia and Ranunculus. Those I do every year.

At present I am trying to rid this area of pocket gophers. Gas bombs are expensive and don't always work. Placing a Macabee properly is always iffy. I am still looking for the ideal bait. To control the critters, I have also tried poison (grain, pellets). I am open to new ideas. Unfortunately, my cat isn't hungry enough lately to bring any of them in.
