A bit about my surroundings...

I have been plucked from the country of CT to suburbia of CT, and quite honestly have taken to it better than I expected. I do not have the diversity of the birds I once did, but now have the luxury of observing things I never had been able to see clearly, ie, nest material gathering, raising of the young. So Quality over Quantity you might say, although that still does not deter me from attempting to attract different species to my "oasis" of suburbia.

I lived in Florida for three years and travel quite a bit to the Caribbean, so my life-list is a bit jumbled to say the least.

Who has been in my yard?
Lesse...Black Capped Chickadee, European Starling (blech- they just never seem to leave!), Northern Cardinal, Common Grackles (bronze race), Mourning Dove, Feral Pigeon, Red Bellied Woodpecker, Yellow Shafted Flicker, Downey Woodpecker, Hairy Woodpecker, Cooper's Hawk, Blue Jay, Tufted Titmouse, House Wren, Carolina Wren, Gray Catbird, American Robin, Cedar Waxwing, Brown Headed Cowbird, Red Winged Blackbird, Baltimore Oriole, House Sparrow, Northern Junco, House Finch, Purple Finch, American Goldfinch, Ruby Throated Hummingbird, and the White Throated Sparrow (migration).

Who else have I observed?
Lesser Frigatebird, Brown Pelican, Brown Booby, Great Cormerant, Great Blue Heron, Green Heron, Cattle Egret, Great Egret, Snowy Egret, White Ibis, American Flamingo, Mute Swan, Canada Goose, Mallard, American Black Duck, Wood Duck, Common Merganser, Turkey Vulture, Black Vulture, Swallow-Tailed Kite, Red-Tailed Hawk, Golden Eagle, Bald Eagle, Northern Harrier, Osprey, Peregrine Falcon, Ruffed Grouse, Ring-Necked Pheasant, Wild Turkey, Common Gallinule, American Coot, Killdeer, Black Necked Stilt, Laughing Gull, Common Screech Owl, Belted Kingfisher, Tree Swallow, Barn Swallow, Inca Dove, Greater Antillean Grackle, Northern Raven, Fish Crow, Northern Mockingbird, Eastern Bluebird, Bohemian Waxwing, Loggerhead Shrike, Loggerhead Kingbird, Wood Thrush (what a voice!), Rose-Breasted Grosebeak, Scarlet Tanager, and Rufus-Sided Towhee.

Who can I hear but can't see?
Lots!!!!! But I can't ID them!!! *cry*

Where can you see my pictures?
In the link below, however, be fair warned they are NOT all bird/wildlife related, some are of me and my crazy family and friends.
Most of the wildlife pics you will see were actually taken through panes of glass and/or window screens with film and a 500MM lens. Although I just got a fabulous Canon PowerShot S1 IS, which I am learnig how to use. I apologize in advance for any inferior amateur photograhy mistakes. :)

What camera do I use?
I use film and digi, but I want/need a scope. A Canon Rebel-X EOS with a Sigma 170-500mm zoom lens (film) and a Canon PowerShot S1 IS (digi). My new toy. MUHAHAHAHA!
