I am an artist, mother, wife, sister, lover and best friend. I can't seem to throw anything away for fear I may find a use for it. Which usually happens right after I throw it away! My family calls me a "pack rat"; I prefer to call it "saving the planet" (good excuse, right?!) :) However, they are amazed at the ideas I come up with, that are different than an item's intentional use. I love trash to treasure, shabby chic and cottage style. My favorite days are garbage days and my favorite pasttime is dumpster diving! I have been known to be late for appointments because of this. Now I prioritize my time. Yep, that's right! No appointments on trash day!!! Because we live in a tourist area along Lake Huron, I would have to say that my most favorite day is Labor Day. People are heading back to their regular homes and closing up cottages for the winter. Because of this, they have a tendency to throw a LOT away, and you wouldn't believe the treasures you can find! This is the one day of the year that I look forward to, even to the point of calling in sick at work! I know, I'm hopeless! My family would say I'm also extremely gullible and naive. However, we'll save that for another day!
