i'm relatively new to full scale gardening and ponds, having just landscaped our backyard from basically nothing in 2002. see my homepage for the picture story of this adventure. it's all still a big experiment for me, but one that brings me infinite joys every day. i have always been a keen observer of nature and spent much of my free time enjoying it. now bringing some of nature's best into my own backyard is my major preoccupation. like marco polo supposedly said after the end of his journies, i really like to "stay at home and tend the garden".
