been gardening in north central new jersey, at foot of
ramapos. trying very hard to keep garden completely organic
and stopped using commercial fungicides and pesticides
two years ago. have a nice population of parasitic wasps
and ladybugs controlling pests, and what they don't get,
i hand pick and kill. like big, showy, very colorful flowers -- dahlia, canna, tigridia, phlox, lilies, gladiola, iris. have tried ornmental ginger, without success.
