My wife and I raise vegetables in the middle of 50 acres of woods on the palisades above the Kentucky River, doing constant battle with deer, raccoons, and flea beetles. We enjoy saving a few varieties of heirloom tomato, pepper and eggplant seed. Garden beds are amended with composted horse manure, and peppers and eggplants isolated under Tufbell. Life members of SSE. Devotees of the Ruth Stout Method of permanent, year-round mulch.
