I'm particularly interested in developing landscapes that don't use non-native invasives. By non-native, I mean plants that did not co-evolve in the ecosystem they are to be planted in. By invasive, I mean plants that are hard to control the spread of.

I have nothing against non-natives, if they aren't invasive. And, vica-versa.

I am 50 years old, a member of Carroll Garden Club (an affiliate of the Federated Garden Clubs of Maryland.) I'm on the Landscape Design Council and am an Accredited Flower Show Judge. I present programs to garden clubs, about landscape design, cooking with fresh herbs and/or wild foods, floral design for shows and design for special events and holidays.

One of my special events this summer has been the amazing flush of bloom on my "Bluebird" lacecap hydrangea.

I recently joined the Mycological Assn. of Washington (DC) and they have TASTING events! And foraging trips! I also attens wine-tastings with the Carroll County American Wine Society.

You might think I'm a "foodie", and you'd be right. One of the things I do for money is "Personal Cheffing" and party planning. I'm a substitute teacher 10 months out of the year, and volunteer as mentor of a middleschool gardening program.
