As you may have guessed, I am a Collie Mama. We have two collies, a male sable and female tri. Both are spoiled rotten. I have just begun gardening as a hobby. We have a butterfly garden for the kids with all of the plants that our local species enjoy, almost all of which are perennials. Plants that we have regularly when the season is right: tulips, daffodils, crocus, daylillies, grape hyacinth, iris, clematis, purple coneflower, bee balm, butterfly bush, dahlias, bachelor buttons, roses, impatiens, geranium, Capistrano (yellow-flowering) rhododendron, hostas, garden mums, blueberry bushes, and a raspberry bush. This summer we also planted tomatoes, broccoli, basil & lemon basil, oregano, watermelon and cantaloupe.

I have learned many things so far about outdoor gardening, including light requirements, soil requirements, pests and diseases. It's been an adventure! I have even done better with indoor plants. Hopefully I will be a master at this in a few more years!
