I live on the gulf coast on an overly large lot with my sweet husband, 1 strapping son, 1 goofy cat, 1 chocalte lab, 80 camellias, a dozen or so native azaleas, a plethora of song birds and more opportunistic vines than you can shake a stick at.

My husband is a large format photographer and I'm a quasi-geek with web and watercolor talents.

We both love gardening, camping, hiking or nearly any other excuse to hang around outdoors. We had to reclaim our yard from encroaching wisteria, morning glory and honeysuckle. We are slowly but surely returning it to a wooded oasis with a variety of magnolias and maples, native trees and shrubs, and brightly blooming perennials. We haven't abandoned more traditional garden plants. With a yard as big as ours, there is room for all.
