I enjoy gardening in general but my latest passion is fig trees. I also like to grow tomatoes and roses.
I live in the suburban jungle of Orange County, California (near Disneyland) where most people have postage stamp sized yards, so there is very limited space for gardening. It's a challenge to keep enough open space for my little daughter to play and soften the look of the ugly (my wife's description) tomato plants with some ornamentals.

I grew up in rural Louisiana where there was plenty of room for large vegetable gardens and fig trees. My dad milked a cow every morning and we had fresh milk that was the best you ever tasted. I miss the fresh figs a lot and it is hard to find good ones for sale in this area so I'm determined to get a couple of trees going in my tiny yard.
