I just stumbled across your website looking for HELP on what to do with our OLD wood fir floors. Well, was I surprised to know I am NOT the ONLY person out there with questions on how to remodel/restore an old house. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I've decided (after 9 years)not to replace our fir floors and not to replace our plastered walls with drywall. It took 9 years!!! In my defense, we do ALL the work ourselves. Made mistakes. Still trudging along to the goal. Our marriage is still in tack (it was hanging by a thread at times). Remodeling/restoring an old home has its many blessing. It has brought our family together. My mother lived with us until her time was over. We are making memories for our children. There are many houses that look good from the outside, but is it a HOME.
