Hi! I am recently divorced following a 26-year marriage and am living in my home with my 22 yo daughter, two adorable pitbull-mix dogs that are treated like children, and a white spice finch named "Bubba". I worked 25 years in our community hospital as Director of Social Services & Utilization Review, then as Case Manager (new job description after a merger). I also owned an antique business located in antique malls--love those vintage garden accessories! For the last few years I have been a homemaker, so I have been able to spend a lot more time working in my yard. I have been expanding gardening areas and increasing my varieties of herbs, perennials, vegetables, etc. I have gathered stone from the surrounding wooded areas and have built a stone bench and walkway (mortared in). I built a brick raised salad green bed and finished some landscaped areas. I am trying to learn more about propagation, seed-saving, hardscaping, landscaping, and the multitude of uses for a wide variety of herbs. My small backyard is planned for birds, butterflies, and small wildlife. Windchimes, temple bells, fragrant flowers and herbs soothe the soul! Food and flowers feed the mind and the body! I am having a lot of fun trading seeds and plants--making a lot of new gardening friends while greatly expanding my horizons with new varieties of flowers, foliage, herbs, and edibles!
